Chinese Story in Museums is a signature program of our sister organization Cultural Foundation of Zhendai He (USA), created to showcase the beauty of Chinese cultural heritage in world-class museums across the United States. Through film, dialogue, and scholarship, the series tells the stories behind treasured artifacts and highlights the role of museums in fostering cultural exchange and understanding.

The Cultural Foundation of Zhendai He (USA) is proud to present Chinese Story in Museums, a documentary program that highlights the richness of Chinese cultural heritage preserved in leading museums across the United States.
Launched in 2023 as part of the broader initiative The Glory of Global Chinese, the program was co-produced with CGTN America, China Television Corporation, and Be An Culture Group. The series explores iconic collections at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), Asian Art Museum (San Francisco), and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (Kansas City). Through exclusive access and in-depth conversations with museum presidents, curators, and scholars, Chinese Story in Museums brings to life the stories behind the treasures and the efforts of cultural leaders to share Chinese art with the world.
At its core, this program reflects the foundation’s mission: to build cultural bridges through scholarship, dialogue, and storytelling. By tracing the journey of Chinese artifacts in international museums, we aim to foster cross-cultural understanding, deepen appreciation for Chinese heritage, and inspire future generations to carry forward these traditions in a global context.
Since its premiere at the Bowers Museum in California in April 2023, Chinese Story in Museums has reached wide audiences through both museum screenings and online platforms. The foundation envisions the program as a long-term project that will expand to highlight Chinese cultural treasures in European museums as well, continuing to amplify Chinese voices in global art spaces.
Through Chinese Story in Museums, the Cultural Foundation of Zhendai He reaffirms its dedication to preserving cultural legacies, while also encouraging innovation and dialogue in today’s interconnected world.
