荷,是南方最常见的水生植物,为历代文人墨客吟之以诗,形之以画。作者以写实的手法,成功地刻画了蒲塘秋日 的丽景:碧水之上萍藻点点,绿荷盈盈。荷花在娉婷舒展、俯仰欹侧的荷叶衬托下,以含苞、初绽、怒放的三种生 命形态展示着自然美。整幅运用仿恽南田笔意的没骨法,萍藻以色彩直接点就,显现出灵秀生动的物性。荷花以粉 红色点染花尖,旋即以清水迅速晕开,色阶层次丰富,色调深浅过渡自然,真实地展现出花瓣清淡雅丽之美以及荷 花“出淤泥而不染,濯青莲而不妖”的内在神韵。

恽冰,生卒年不详,活动于清康熙中期至乾隆初期,字清于,武进(今江苏常州)人。清初画坛 “四王吴恽”中恽南田家族 的后裔。她自幼潜心于花鸟画创作,不仅整日观摩家中所藏恽南田的画作,掌握表现技法,而且常观察房前屋后的花草、虫 蝶,从中汲取大自然赋予的创作灵感。成年后,嫁同郡毛鸿调为妻。清吴德旋《初月楼续闻见录》记载他们“筑小楼,夫妻吟 诗作画以老焉”。婚后良好的文化环境有助于恽冰的艺术日臻成熟。她与以擅勾染闻名的马荃合称为清代女性画坛双绝。其花 鸟画注重逼真写实,造型生动传神。花瓣常以水墨着色晕染,通过灵动多变的用笔,把墨、色与画中的形象完全融为一体;茎 枝、叶筋以娴熟的笔力一笔勾就;叶片注重阴阳向背的处理关系,颇具立体感。恽冰存世的作品很多,有故宫博物院藏《蒲塘 秋艳图》《华春双艳图》《南山佳色图》《紫藤月季图》《紫霞朱帐图》;上海博物院藏《春风鹆图》及广州市美术馆藏《南 山秋艳图》。

With a realistic approach, he successfully described the beautiful autumn view of the pond.The lotus shows their natural beauty in three states, in bud, starting to bloom and in full bloom. The layers are rich and the transition of the color is very natural.

Yun Bing, whose specific birth and death date is unknown, her style name is Qing Yu, the descendant of Yun Tiannan. She was good at the flower-and-bird painting and was considered as the Two Female Masters of Qing Dynasty with Ma Quan.
